What is CampMEDSafe™??
CampMEDSafe™ is a proprietary medication error reporting system designed specifically for summer camps, brought to you by Shattered Glass Consulting, LLC.
It provides your medical staff with an easy-to-use platform to submit medication error reports and, most importantly, returns a complete analysis equipped with real, actionable solutions to help decrease future errors.
How does it work??
Simple Onboarding: Camp administrators sign up through our secure subscription portal.
Instant Access: Your camp receives a dedicated group User ID and PIN for your medical staff to securely enter the system.
Smart Triage: When an event occurs, the portal guides the staff through specific data points to help uncover the root causes of the error.
Actionable Intelligence: A detailed report is generated and sent directly to camp leadership. This report breaks down the incident and provides practical, easily implementable suggestions to enhance your camp's medication processes. We don't offer million-dollar consulting suggestions—we deliver Practical Solutions.
Why does your camp need this??
Nobody wants a medication error to happen, but the reality is that they do. Often, the first reaction to an error is to ask, "Who did it?". However, as the landmark Institute of Medicine (IOM) report To Err is Human established, the focus must shift.
The question shouldn't be who did it, but WHY did it happen?. What factors contributed to the mistake, and what systems can be put in place to prevent it?.
Summer camp medical professionals care for a highly vulnerable population, yet they are often overlooked when it comes to institutional support. CampMEDSafe bridges that gap, bringing hospital-grade safety systems to providers working out in the woods. This system is your first proactive step to decreasing medication errors at YOUR camp.
The Evidence-Based Background
This isn't just software; it is rooted in academic science.
The CampMEDSafe™ online portal is a direct modification of the Comprehensive Assessment of Medication Performance and Safety (CAMPS) Form.
The foundation of this system was published in the Journal of Interprofessional Education and Practice under the study: "Interprofessional Implementation of Medication Safety Practices in a Summer Camp for Children with Disabilities, Using the CAMPS form for Standardized Reporting and Continuous Process Improvement".

Is an enterprise safety system going to break our budget?
We designed CampMEDSafe™ knowing that many summer camps operate with strict budget limitations. You shouldn't need a hospital-sized budget to have hospital-grade safety.
To ensure fairness across camps of all sizes and session lengths, our pricing is standardized on a "per-camper, per-week" model rather than a massive flat fee.
Example: If you host 250 campers, and they each stay for a 2-week session, you would simply select the 500-camper package.
We are also deeply committed to the camp community. As this program grows, our goal is to establish grant partnerships that will allow resource-limited camps to apply and receive this service at zero cost.

Why don't you just charge per error report?
The short answer? Absolutely not.
In medication safety, reporting is a good thing. Charging a camp for every incident creates a financial penalty for transparency, which goes against everything we stand for. We want to eliminate every barrier that might cause an error to be swept under the rug.
When a new reporting system is implemented, report numbers almost always go up. That doesn't mean your camp is suddenly making more mistakes—it means your staff finally feels supported enough to talk about them. This is the crucial first step in shifting from a "blame culture" ("Look at the mistake Sally made") to a "systems culture" ("If we organize these medication bins better, we can prevent an error from happening").
Yes, unlimited reporting means more work on our end—but we engineered our infrastructure specifically to handle it. Having more data helps formulate practical, systemic changes. We will never penalize you financially for fostering a culture of safety.
